It is with great joy that The Oaks school board announces Bonnie Fanelli as the new Head of School, starting June 3, 2026. Bonnie is a seasoned and passionate classical Christian educator who is dedicated to partnering with families to educate and disciple students for lives of faithful service to Christ.
"In getting to know her over the past few months we have appreciated her love for the Lord, the twenty years of experience she has had in education, her alignment and passion for our mission and vision, and her confident humility that God has called her to this specific job with The Oaks," said The Oaks Board President Noralea O'Meilia.
With extensive experience across a wide range of educational settings-- including public, private, University-Model, charter, and homeschool--Fanelli is firmly convinced that true education must cultivate not only in academic excellence, but also Christ-centered character, intellectual humility, and a lifelong love of truth, goodness, and beauty.
Most recently she served in South Carolina as a dean at a classical Christian school where she contributed to the mission of cultivating disciples, scholars, and citizens. Bonnie received her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2018, will complete her Educational Specialist Degree this August with hopes of pursuing her Educational Doctorate soon after.
She is a native Floridian and is married to her husband Angelo and together they have raised their three children-- Isaac (20), Alysia (17), and their niece Marley (17)-- in the classical Christian education movement since kindergarten. This personal experience has profoundly shaped both her family life and professional calling.
She will replace The Oaks's founding Head of School Katie Crews, who is stepping down to spend more time with her family. "Since we founded The Oaks in 2021, we'd always planned to find an excellent new leader once the school was well established. This is a dream come true for me to get to hand the school to such a well suited and godly woman. I have great confidence in Mrs. Fanelli, which gives me a lot of excitement for this new chapter!" said Crews.
Fanelli is eager to serve our community at The Oaks, where she looks forward to graduating students who know and serve Christ, pursue academic excellence, and boldly impact the world for His glory.
